The Guest is a familiar tale for any fan of horror. A malignant poltergeist haunts a home and drives the inhabitant to madness. This is the story about a woman driven to question her surroundings, her actions and her sanity. The catch is this story is about a different kind of horror entirely.
The power of horror is the genre’s capacity to explore fantasy horrors alongside real world ones. To represent and explore the darkness within humanity in a way that provokes and challenges the audience. To get under their skin in a safe manner. The Guest uses the troupes found within poltergeist narratives as metaphors to tell an all-too familiar tale for anyone who has been targeted by unwanted intentions.
